Meet the Team
At Peer Youth Movement, we envision to see a generation of youth who can run businesses with entrepreneurial and financial knowledge and are able to support their families.
Founder & CEO
I, Lindah Nabakooza, was raised in a humble family of seven where work was the story of our lives. We literally physically worked with our dad on the farm and on the buildings he used to construct. To us, working was a piece of cake. As children, we never received anything on a silver platter, even when our dad could afford it. He taught us how to save and inspired us to always do something on our own. We were privileged but unfortunately some children don’t get the chance as their parents pamper them from infantry and they grow up without any life skills.
Exactly this misfortune happened to my friend Sam; who mismanaged his late father’s businesses and rendered his 2 sister’s poppers and later getting involved in commercial sex work at a tender age to earn a living. If only Sam had knowledge of how to run a business and entrepreneurial skills to increase his income, and had been brought up and mentored about money and business, his late father's ship wouldn’t have sunk. It is from this that I drew passion and motivation of helping the youth increase their income by sustainably supporting their initiatives in agribusiness, enterprise development, and entrepreneurial induction.
To effect this, I founded the Peer Youth Movement (PYM) which is a network of community youth groups comprising of individuals whom I congregate, empower and train with skills in financial management, business development and management, clerical documentation and social entrepreneurship as a gateway to transformative business success and development. Currently, PYM’s main activities include but not limited to Agribusiness training (poultry, piggery and rabbits), how to save, retail business training and trading. I support this with mentorship, career guidance, counseling, sensitization and awareness on health risks, peer influences and addictions, gambling, smoking, drug abuse and prostitution. I dream of a world where youth sustainably run businesses with financial knowledge that meaningfully impacts the communities they serve economically, and I hope to create a difference now and for generations to come.
